Garland Gadgets Find A New Home
Since schools closed in March, families in some of the most deprived areas have been hit the hardest, as the digital divide opened up between the haves and the have nots.
In many cases, children who are homeschooled during the pandemic have been sharing a mobile phone to carry out their homework, whilst schools struggle to get the government grants they desperately need for their classroom IT equipment.
To help combat the issue, Garland UK paired up with a local Bristol based school, Avonmouth Primary, to donate our surplus laptops, desktops and IT accessories. In desperate need of more IT equipment to help their students study at home and the classroom, Avonmouth Primary was thrilled that we were on hand to help!
Spreading the word throughout the Garland offices and Regional Technical Managers out on the road, the company pulled together to have a look at home and dig out any laptops, tablets and equipment that could be donated to the cause.
With a big box of newly refurbished laptops in tow, the Garland Gadgets were delivered to the School Business Manager, Jackie Hall and Head Mistress Jess Peach, who were delighted with the donation and looking forward to putting the IT equipment to good use straight away.
